My Super Sweet Sixteen

Ailene tagged me to do 16 random facts/habits about myself or goals I have.  I’m pretty much winging this so let’s get it started.

i - back in fifth grade, the teacher thought that i was playin around when i put my initials on the board because it is “AM”.  i’d say it’s a better alternative to “ARMM” which are my full initials.  ha.

ii - i love socks.  i have this thing where i have to keep my feet clean nomatterwhat and socks do that for me.  i do not like going barefoot unless i know what i am stepping on is clean.  socks keep me sane.

iii - i was voted “aim addict” first year during oyfa superlatives.  i really doubt i am though.  either that or i am less of an aim-er these days.  i’m trying to switch over to the phone.  so people, call me.

iv - i sucked my thumb until i was like 6.  we had bunkbeds in the PI and i was the top bunk.  one night a cockroach dropped on me while i was sucking my thumb.  i never my sucked my thumb after that.

v - i haven’t ridden a bike since the incident in the philippines when we were at a bike park.  i hit a curb and i flew towards a tree.  i bled.  i’m not really sure if it’s factual but my memory likes to think so….lol

vi - people think i know the lyrics to all of the songs in the world.  i like to sing along, listen to 97.1, and had parents who blasted a lot of oldies/disco tunes when i was younger.  that is how i know those songs.  however, i am missing a gap on songs made when i transitioned to the US.  so i either know songs from 50s to early 80s and late 90s to now.  not so much on the mid 80s to mid 90s.

vii - i used to be an AsianAvenue junkie.  looking for all those AzN PrYde pictures, those lil avatar things that you can dress up and have a different outfit each day, guestbooking, and html-ing it up like no other.  TruPnayQT86.  oh my younger years…

viii - i hold one grudge.  i guess one and half but i’m pretty okay now with that half.  burn/hurt/betray me or my family and you will be blacklisted like no other.  i don’t forgive easily…

ix - everytime i transitioned from elementary to middle, middle to high school, i was always in a different school.  in ffx county, depending on where you live, elementary, middle, and hs are grouped together.  i.e. if you went to crossfield es, you went to lanier middle school, then onto fairfax hs.  my fam moved around at the times i graduated from one school.  so i always gained new friends but lost those i already had.  twas hard but now there is facebook and ‘people you may know’.  as they say, the rest is history (once you friend them hahah)

x - goal: i hope to move out by 2010.  in the future, i picture myself in a surburb but not in VA.

xi - i saw my first black person in the Detroit International Airport, June 1st, 1995.

xii - i used to shower in the rain when i was in the philippines.  running up and down the street all neked.  and i was 7.

xiii - goals: i hope to advance in the company i’m currently working at.  they’re all about growing, which is good for me.  i’m dabbling in HR right now, some business analysis stuff, and hopefully in the future, marketing related stuff.  i’m in a good place right now.

xiv - goals: i hope to go back to school.  i don’t know what for though.  i guess it doesn’t have to be formal university or anything; NOVA will definitely do.  i really want to take a photography class now that i have this SLR camera and learn more about it.  i miss learning and knowing random facts about the world.  btw, yesterday was the night where the moon was at its biggest (around 6-8PM).  that is because it’s in an area where it’s most illuminated by the sun as well as in the hemisphere (northern, i believe) where it is closest to the earth…or something like that.  i’m a dork for science, astronomy, and how things are made (the science channel is made for me)

xv - i used to be crosseyed.  i went into surgery when i was 4 for correction, however sometimes my left eye becomes all weird now and it looks like i have a lazy eye =[.  to reset it: i just have to close my eyes for like 5 seconds and i’d be back to normal.  my parents took pictures when i was in surgery too.  from what i remember i had eye patches for a week or so and couldn’t see.  when we went home in a cab, the cab had that orange airfreshner that made me sick.  they were also feeding me mcdo.  i associated the two and now i do not eat big macs that much.

xvi - i love france.  paris.  nice.  marseilles.  i wanna go to france/backpack europe one day.  wanna come with?

So that’s my 16.  I definitely have more but those were the ones that popped up in my mind first.  I’m weird.  Haha.
